My Journey to Oracle Cloud.

In my PwC days, I had my first encounter with Oracle Fusion Financials and I was immediately drawn in. Coming from Oracle E-Business Suite background both Release 11 and 12, I can categorically say the world of Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning has changed a lot. Obviously still the same underlying concepts with regards to processing financial transactions.

Oracle developed next generation enterprise applications, Fusion Applications, to respond to changes in business and technology.

Fusion Financials provide a complete and integrated Financial Management Solution with streamlined processes and best in class financial management and operations capabilities. It includes general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash management, expenses, and advanced collections.

Fusion Financials took the best  of the best capabilities from acquisitions over the years to deliver a world class financial suite. They took compelling features from E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards and Hyperion and included them in Fusion.

With no actual Oracle Cloud Financials project in my belt and every opportunity to get on one introduced new set backs i.e. lack of Cloud Certification. After few E-business Suite projects and contracts, I made a conscious decision to get my certification and hands-on experience.

So I joined Namos Solutions and they provided Cloud Financials to me on a platter of gold.

After a 5 day training on Fusion Financials and successfully implementing and supporting Cloud Financials and Expenses internally I summoned  the courage to attempt the exams.

Now certified in Oracle Cloud Financials, I am even more  hungry for Oracle Financial Cloud projects.
